Amur mapleAmur maple – Acer ginalla – is a very common ornamental landscape tree is an extremely invasive, non-native plant.

Like Japanese Barberry, it is a very prolific seed producer that can take over native landscapes in Minnesota.

Unfortunately, the most common varieties are offenders and should be avoided.

Great replacements for Amur Maple are:

  • Serviceberry
  • Pagoda Dogwood
  • Nannyberry
  • Crabapple
